A lack of available residential land in Brisbane is driving providers to build multi-storey aged care homes. Regis’s latest six-storey home currently being built at Lutwyche (pictured) in inner north Brisbane is a prime example. Located on a block two-thirds the size traditionally used for such projects, the 135-bed facility will open in 2018.
Australian Unity’s six-storey Rathdowne Place development in Melbourne’s inner-city Carlton was the leader in high-rise aged care development which they are following up at Prahran in Melbourne and at Brisbane’s $1.1 billion Herston Quarter redevelopment.
