The Federal member for Paterson Bob Baldwin and Opposition Spokeswoman for Ageing, Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, have organised a roundtable discussion on aged care.
Along with 30 aged care providers from the Hunter region, they’ll be addressing concerns of heightened stress and frustration compounded by unnecessary reporting requirements that are reducing capacity to provide quality care.
"The fact that staffing levels now required to just do paperwork rather than hands-on work is getting to a critical level, taking people away from providing that service, the number of beds available in our region is becoming a huge issue," said Mr Baldwin.
"We want our aged care providers to be able to have direct access to a Shadow Minister, as she's developing policy."
