Gold Coast Retirement Village operator Aura, in conjunction with Parkwood International Golf Club, have lodged a Development Approval application for a 233-apartment Retirement Village.
The proposed development will be located on the north western corner of the golf course within walking distance or short buggy ride from Parkwood Village which occupies the north eastern corner. It will have no impact on the 18-hole course.
The Retirement Village will consist of six separate buildings varying in height from 4 to 6 levels and is likely to be developed over three stages.
The apartments will be a combination of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms with more than half enjoying golf course views. The Village will house its own community facilities including pool, gym, library, cafe, market garden and medical suites and according to Managing Director of Parkwood International, Luke Altschwager, the residents of the proposed development will also benefit from the many amenities of Parkwood Village.
According to Aura Director Tim Russell, the village operator has entered into a long-term lease of the proposed site with Parkwood which will ensure the ongoing sustainability of the golf course.
