The book, entitled Bygone Days, is a sequel to 2012’s Reflections and last year’s Memories and features a total of 38 stories and dozens of pictures contributed by 26 residents of the East Albury village.
Award-winning author and guest speaker at this year’s Write Around the Murray Festival, Dr. Dianne Wolfer, will launch the book on Wednesday 5th September and members of the public are invited to attend and enjoy complimentary snacks.
Resident Audrey Davidson (pictured) who collated stories for the book said that there were a lot of people in the village with great tales to tell including that of resident Eda Moss, who faced disaster when the engine in her one-propeller aeroplane failed mid-flight and a beach landing near Taree in northern NSW was called for. Also recounted are stories of adventures of the outback nurse, wartime air ambulances and bucket list trips.
Details: 4:30pm on Wednesday 5th September at 36 Mountford Crescent, East Albury.
