The deal will see Optus Business become the primary provider of Uniting’s communication services across more than 200 sites.
As the Not-For-Profit’s primary ICT supplier, the telco will merge services across its aged care homes, independent living units, corporate offices and childcare and community centres, including fixed voice, mobile, unified communications-as-a-service and data network services.
Under the contract, Optus Business will manage Uniting’s mobile fleet of 2,400 devices, while putting in place a Wide Area Network (WAN) solution for its 220 sites in NSW and the ACT.
Optus Business Managing Director John Paitaridis said the telco would allow Uniting to move to more cloud-based services and become more data-led.
The contract was the result of a series of joint workshops in Optus ThinkSpace, a state-of-the-art space where businesses can work through strategic pro innovation facility where organisations can work through strategic problems.
Uniting says the partnership will help the organisation to streamline its back-office systems and databases and overlay analytics so they can better forecast and meet their clients’ needs.
