Heritage Care is on track to build 1,000 aged care beds across Melbourne, with construction starting this month on a home in the high growth suburb of Epping, 26km north of the Melbourne CBD.
The new two-storey Epping Gardens site will house 148 beds and cost approx. $32M, around $215,000 a bed.
Designed by Point Health Architects and developed by McMullin Property, Epping Gardens is its 26th aged care facility.
Heritage Care has existing aged care facilities in Sydenham, Bayswater North and inner-city Prahran. Developments are also planned for Melton, Werribee and Mt Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula.
Heritage Care was founded in 2002 by owner Tony Antonopoulos. It currently has almost 300 beds.
Heritage Care has re-worked senior roles to assist with growth of its portfolio – Executive Chairman George Gabriel (pictured), who brings 20 years’ global capital markets experience to the team; and CEO Greg Reeve, bringing almost 30 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Adviser.
Mr Gabriel says: “Epping Gardens will complement the existing Northern Hospital and Epping Medical Centre, providing a full continuum of care – including primary, secondary and tertiary care – through local residents’ entire lifecycle.”
