Allambie Heights Village in Sydney’s Northern Beaches has taken over the lease for the nearby Sir William Charlton Village.
The Village, which has 55 apartments, had been managed by The Benevolent Society for 50 years since it was earmarked as the site for an affordable retirement village in the 1960s.
The changeover took place at the end of August after a new lease was negotiated for the William Charlton site, which sits on 3.7 hectares. Allambie Heights’ 50-year-old village and adjoining nursing home, which is 20 years old, is just 1.4 hectares.
Allambie Heights CEO Ciarán Foley said: “The existing retirement village and greenfields site represents great development opportunity for the Northern Beaches. Watch this space!”
