One of Western Australia’s most well-known retirement village and aged care providers, Bethanie, have once again made news this week with the opening of the second stage of their Bethanie Peel Community Housing development in Coodanup.
The community welcomed its second building completion with the Minister for Housing and praise from Bethanie’s Chief of Business Development, Rohan Taylor, for Bethanie’s ability to ‘altruistically provide this level of accommodation to Western Australians in need of some support.’
Partly funded by a Western Australian State Government housing program, the 98-apartment addition is in accordance with outstanding energy ratings and design standards. Notably, each apartment is affordable to residents qualified for the aged pension, with rent at just 25% of the pension benchmark.
“Many of the residents who will soon move in have never lived in a brand new home or owned their own home”, Mr. Taylor stated. “(It is) a wonderful outcome, and Bethanie is very proud of that,” he continued.
