The New Zealand-based operator – which has six villages built or in development in Victoria – has been recognised as one of the best-performing healthcare companies in the world for the fourth year in a row.
Ryman are ranked eighth in the list put together by global management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group.
The only New Zealand company to make the list, Chief Executive Gordon MacLeod told the NZ Herald it marked a significant achievement.
“To be included on a list that includes the best-performing companies around the globe is something to be proud of – and it reflects a lot of hard work by many people over a number of years,” he said.
“When we listed back in 1999 the intention was to build the company for the rapid growth in the population aged 75+ from 2018 onwards. Since then we’ve kept true to that vision, and we are now beginning to see the growth in the market we’ve spent so long preparing for.”
Ryman has 31 retirement villages which are home to over 10,000 residents in New Zealand and Australia.
