RSL Care, with RDNS and four other retirement village and residential industry leaders, are conducting research focusing on changing and optimizing lifestyles for future Australian seniors. The project, titled ‘Seniors Living Innovation,’ formally launched this week after initial data collection in February and a previous six-month planning phase.

Information collected in the project, in partnership with QUT, has revealed that priorities across multiple age groups surveyed place family and social relationships, intergenerational and community connections as highly important in planning for the future.

“People across age groups were all talking about the same things,” said project lead Professor Laurie Buys, who went on to say; “our aim is to challenge truths and drive innovation and leadership.”

Future activities for the project will include a design challenge formulated from data gathered, intending to create disruptive opportunities able to transform into significant industry products and services for older people.
