Sunshine Coast retirement village IRT Woodlands has been announced as one of 13 finalists in the running for the Award for Design Excellence, a new category that recognises quality retirement living design, in the annual Property Council of Australia National Retirement Living Awards.
IRT Communities CEO, Stig Andersen said the IRT Woodlands community is delighted at the announcement.
“Our residents and employees are thrilled their community is being recognised on a national stage,” Mr Andersen said.
Featured within the precinct are a cinema, putting green, swimming pool, café, community centre, free wi-fi in common areas, community transport and walking tracks through neighbouring Kawana Forest.
The village was designed in conjunction with firm Brad Read Design, to ensure the built and landscaped environment would enable future residents to live a vibrant life. Currently, IRT Woodlands is home to only 35 residents, but will grow exponentially once the entire 107 villas are complete.
