The $15M plan will see 26 new homes built at the 61-unit Balmoral Retirement Village in Dernancourt, northeast of the city.

While 23 of the homes will be two storeys, three of the units will be three-storey penthouses, leading two nearby residents to voice concerns the buildings were too high.

However, the Council has voted to approve the development, saying the heights are in line with the zoning for the area and won’t overshadow the neighbouring properties.
