The industry’s heavy hitters – ACSA, the Aged Care Guild, Leading Age Services Australia (LASA), Catholic Health Australia and UnitingCare Australia – have united to urge the Federal Government to establish an “industry-led taskforce” to further develop a workforce strategy.

They have released a joint framework paper for policy responses to the challenges facing the aged care workforce – where will the workers come from for residential care, home care and the National Disability Insurance Scheme?

Over the next three years, a planned extra 200,000 care workers will be required.
