The largest retirement development in South Eastern Brisbane, the redevelopment of the three-hectare Carindale retirement village will deliver 432 independent living units and a 115-bed aged care facility.

The $45 million first stage will comprise one, two and three-bedroom independent living apartments in two multi-storey contemporary apartment building with consulting rooms for a GP, allied health and care professionals.

Other amenities will include a restaurant, bar, gymnasium, outdoor swimming pool, movie theatre, library, games room, activity room and a beauty salon.

According to Aveo CEO Geoff Grady the Carindale redevelopment is an important step in catering to the tastes and changing needs of existing residents and tomorrow’s retirees and delivering a stylish and modern community.

Mr Grady added that care and wellbeing services would remain a strong focus within the community.

The local member for Chatsworth, Steve Minnikin MP, said Carindale’s wide variety of shopping outlets, leisure activities and wildlife corridors were a huge draw card for people to reside and retire in the area and he expected that the redevelopment would also impact positively on job opportunities and local business.

The first stage of the Aveo Carindale redevelopment is due to be completed in mid-2019 with the final stage due to be finished by 2028.
