The operators has just opened the doors on its five-storey Sellwood building which will be home to 65 two-bedroom assisted living apartments.
Located at its flagship retirement village The Clayfield in Albion, Selwood will provide residents with an extra level of home support service.
Meals, in-home, and cleaning and laundry services will all be on hand as well as 24/7 health and medical support from on-site doctors and allied health services.
Aveo’s executive general manager of integrated communities, Jason Eldering said residents had been asking for an assisted living option at The Clayfield so they could stay in the community as they age.
“Sellwood is a wonderful addition to the community that bridges the gap between our independent living units and aged care homes – it’s perfect for those seniors wanting to maintain their independence but need nursing and care support and help with some daily tasks like cooking and cleaning,” Mr Eldering said.
The apartments also boast a range of features including more accessible wide hallways and doorways, large light switches, DDA-compliant bathrooms and zero-step flat thresholds from living areas to outdoor spaces.
“The care and wellbeing of our residents is central to everything we do, and there is no exception when it comes to The Clayfield,” Mr Eldering said.
The new apartments are priced from $499,000 to $689,000.
