New research results found amongst Australians has shown that Baby Boomers are amongst the happiest generation in the country as reported by the Aveo Positive Ageing Index, with almost three quarters of the age group acknowledging the positive qualities of retirement villages attributing to their success.
Findings from the research discovered that almost one in five (only 19%) of Australians in their 60s and 70s ranked their happiness levels as ‘high’ — more than double the number of those aged under 50 (only 9%).
Respondents recognised that the rich social benefits retirement villages offered such as making new friends, finding a soulmate or seeking out new adventure buddies, were paramount to their happiness later in life.
Aveo Albany Creek resident Thelma Whyte is one of the Baby Boomers who is enjoying a happy life, thanks to her positive outlook.
She said that moving into a retirement community is the “third chapter of her life” having not only found companionship, but also a rich sense of community at Aveo Albany Creek.
The village has two bedroom apartments starting at $395,000 at 61 Explorer Drive; until September 30 they are giving a six month settling in assurance, for future residents who may wish to change their choice.
Ms Whyte’s top five qualities that she sought in a retirement village were a social circle, an active lifestyle, safety, like-minded neighbours, and elevated amenities - all of which she found in the pleasant Aveo Albany Creek community.
