The leading retirement developer has brought forward the second stage of its Aveo Newcastle development in Shortland Waters, 11km from the Newcastle CBD, following strong interest in the first stage.
All 50 of the two-bedroom villas, which are priced from $375,000, have been reserved ahead of completion in July after a recent open day attracted 500 people.
The stage one works also include upgrades to the Shortlands Waters Golf Club with a new clubhouse set for completion in September, and seven new golf holes due mid-2018. A community centre with health and wellbeing facilities, resident function rooms, lounge areas and a gym, will be also be ready to be revealed in October.
The second stage will see another 45 homes built on the site, which is already proving an attraction for local buyers.
Around 70 per cent of the interest for the first stage came from within 5km of the village, with the other 30 per cent mainly from regional NSW towns like Lake Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Taree.
“The feedback from our prospective residents was overwhelmingly positive, with many people attracted to the open-plan designs of the villas, generous gardens, lifestyle amenities and the level of care services that will be in place, and because of this we’ve certainly seen a positive effect on buyer interest,” Aveo’s Executive General Manager for Developments Gary Kordic said.
Mr Kordic added that many people have also been drawn to the fact they will be part of a larger master-planned Aveo community.
“All residents will have unlimited access to established and extensive walking trails, a fully equipped health and wellbeing centre, an aged care facility and of course, the prestigious 18-hole Shortland Waters Golf Club.”
Once complete, the six-year project will house 300 independent villas and 127 aged care rooms.
