Bolton Clarke’s Galleon Gardens retirement village and aged care facility on the Gold Coast has recently celebrated a groundbreaking ceremony on the site of the Currumbin Waters village, marking the next stage of expansion in a $10 million refurbishment to the village which includes a new Memory Support Unit.

The new extension follows completion of the $3.3 million stage one refurbishment that included the creation of modern, flexible configuration ensuite rooms in homes, and upgrades to community areas, which incorporated a new hair salon.

In its entirety, the refurbishment project will also include an outdoor area with broad open spaces and a renovated caravan that will allow residents to socialise. Brand new residential aged care room configurations are also in the plans, giving couples the freedom to stay together in apartment-style accommodation.

Bolton Clarke Property and Development Manager James Mantis said the retirement village provider is proud to be incorporating the latest international design principles including wayfinding support and outdoor living spaces for residents.

“The expansion of the Memory Support Unit is the next stage of our developments; we are excited to be able to offer flexible living options to support residential aged care with the comforts of private living space.”
