The Residents Assistance Committee at Glengara Retirement Village have been recognised for their contributions to their thriving village during May’s National Volunteers Week.
The group of residents part of the Committee volunteer to drive fellow residents who cannot drive to medical or dental appointments on the Central Coast, where the village is located.
Glengara Village Manager, Andrew Glover, said it has been fantastic to witness residents helping each other, and build community spirit in the village. “The Residents Assistance Committee has been of great service to residents since it began in 2002,” Mr. Glover said. “Many have mentioned how it has helped them.”
“While it’s not a high-profile committee, we reflect the heart of the community at the village,” said Committee Chairperson, Brian Meredith. “It gives the community peace of mind.”
