Private development company Traders in Purple has lodged an application for a 100-unit retirement village plus 103 apartments, a community disability support centre and childcare centre over two buildings at Northmore Street Mitchelton, 8km from the CBD.

Called ‘Wilshire Village’, the site is adjacent to the Brookside Shopping Centre and according to the developer will be designed around the concept of “buildings that breathe” and all accommodation will be built to the Gold or Platinum Standard under the Australian Design Guidelines.

Other features will include a community garden and recreational facilities such as indoor/outdoor pool, library, gymnasium and consulting suites.
