Free Fitness program for Gowanbrae retirement village residents
A new pilot program being launched this month will give Gowanbrae Retirement Village residents and members of the local community unprecedented access to free exercise classes and nutrition plans.
Retirement living operator Stockland has partnered with social enterprise Live Life Get Active (LLGA) to promote physical movement and health and wellbeing by running the weekly classes for approximately nine months.
Whilst Stockland has previously hosted more than 20 Live Life Get Active programs in its residential communities, Gowanbrae Retirement Village will be the first Stockland retirement community to introduce the program with LLGA modifying aspects of the current program to specifically suit retirees and older people.
The exercise classes will include elements of boxing, yoga and general cardio and participants will receive a personalised nutrition plan.
The classes are open to all members of the community and have been designed to suit people of all ages and fitness levels according to Stockland Community Engagement Manager Sadie Jaeschke.
