Yesterday, one of Australia’s most innovative senior’s lifestyle community developers, Halcyon, announced master plans for an architecturally designed, $300 million retirement village development in Pimpama on the Gold Coast.

The flagship gated community is touted to have access to the existing 18-hole Gainsborough Greens Golf Course, and is set to be the largest project Queensland-based Halcyon has ever undertaken. Taking inspiration from resort-style living and the surrounding natural environment, the community will house 5 residential precincts consisting of 500 luxury houses, amongst
natural wetlands, conservation zones, parklands and wildlife.

Intent for the community’s creation stemmed from the trend of baby boomers shifting to downsized homes and desires to lead leisurely lifestyles, a growing local population, proposed retail attractions in the area, and a convenient central location between the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Halcyon joint managing director, Dr. Bevan Geissmann, spoke of the project’s initiation. “We are thrilled with the enthusiastic response to the first stage of Halcyon Greens which is unlike any over 50s lifestyle community in Australia,” Dr. Geissman said. Continuing to praise the development, he said “Halcyon Greens will deliver a country club lifestyle in a safe, idyllic and sophisticated setting which appeals to the discerning baby boomer market.”
