The Gold Coast’s first new golf club establishment in a decade will be ready for opening as of February 1st, as part of a major component to premier retirement village, Halcyon Greens.
The Gainsborough Greens Golf Course in Pimpama was provided by over 50s lifestyle developer Halcyon, and exists as a key recreational pillar of Halcyon’s neighbouring 500-home village, qualifying the entire precinct as Australia’s first over 50s golf and lifestyle community.
New facilities include a golf shop, bar, restaurant, function room, deck area and cart shed, alongside the flagship $4 million clubhouse.
Shane Denman of Shane Denman Architects, the firm who served as designers and completed construction of the facilities, said the new clubhouse gave a contemporary edge to its core design features lending a modern urban feel to the highly anticipated community facility.
“We’ve incorporated urban tones and finishes, highlighted by stackbond blockwork and vertical metal cladding, while extended cover decks take advantage of the great golf course views,” he said.
“There is also a spacious function area that can be closed off from the bar and opens directly onto the outside terrace. Existing club members and Halcyon Greens residents will be pleasantly surprised by what we have been able to achieve, particularly with external facilities.”
Not only will all Halcyon Greens retirement village residents be able to enjoy the new facilities, they also receive exclusive membership benefits at the Gainsborough Greens Golf Club until 2027, while non-golfers will be able to enjoy exclusive wine and dine packages at the new clubhouse.
“We are expecting to see the golfing ranks grow as the population gradually increases at Halcyon Greens and continues to rise in the surrounding northern corridor,” said Halcyon joint managing director Dr Bevan Geissmann, earmarking the the club’s strong connection with the Halcyon Greens community as a major path to boosting the community’s interest in golf.
