Fresh from a grand opening in mid-October this year, leading over 50’s lifestyle community developer Halcyon has yet again underscored their position as market leaders as their lauded Pimpama retirement village, Halcyon Greens, has achieved a six-leaf EnviroDevelopment certification from The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA).

The award cements Halcyon as the first developer in Queensland to achieve the full EnviroDevelopment certification in four consecutive developments – with the fourth being awarded to Halcyon Greens.

After being open for just over a month, the sustainable 500-home flagship village has ticked the UDIA’s EnviroDevelopment boxes for ecosystems, waste, energy, materials, water and community.

The first three awards also earned by the organisation’s outstanding villages, were for Halcyon Landing and Halcyon Lakeside at Bli Bli, and Halcyon Glades at Caboolture – all gaining the highest certification from UDIA.

Four consecutive rankings mean Halcyon is the leading enviro-sensitive developer in the retirement industry and is the only developer to achieve this certification in the seniors living category.

Halcyon joint managing director Bevan Geissmann said the company is delighted to receive the six-leaf accreditation.

“To receive a fourth certification in four years shows that we’re committed to delivering a quality product and want to ensure our communities leave a lighter footprint,” Dr Geissmann said.

“In addition to the positive legacy, the monetary saving associated with water and energy efficiency is of huge importance to Halcyon home owners. It’s pleasing to know that we’re doing everything today to save homeowners money tomorrow.”

Halcyon Greens residents not only reap the long-term benefits of sustainable dwellings, but also have free golf membership, as well as exclusive access to the new Country Club that forms part of the 2.5 hectares of lifestyle facilities, including a recreation club and lodge, cinema, gym and wellness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, floodlit tennis court and championship-sized bowling green.
