The real heat being placed on the Government is to at least release the modelling of the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) that was used to cut the $1.2B from the next four years funding of residential aged care.

Leading up to next Saturday’s election Labor has said 'maybe' and the Lib’s have said 'No'.

Labor’s spokesperson on Ageing, Shayne Neumann (from Ipswich QLD), says Labor will release the modelling but will not review the funding cut. “Tough calls” are required to get the budget back in line he says.

ACSA CEO, John Kelly, says the Coalition won’t release its modelling but will meet with the sector if re-elected and seek advice on alternative ways to achieve the same outcome.

The only hope is the Independents and Greens.
