Sean Rooney has been named the new national CEO of LASA, taking over from Patrick Reid who leaves the position after three years in June. Sean will be based in Canberra.

LASA Chairman, Graeme Blackman OA, has said “We are delighted that LASA has secured the services of such a talented and energetic leader for the future”. LASA is transitioning from a federated state model to a unified national model, mirroring ACSA’s similar move.

Sean is currently the Executive Director of Sustainability and Climate Change in the ACT government. He is a former Chief Executive Officer at the Australian Medicare Local Alliance which coordinated and supported the Medicare Local members across Australia.

The board thanked Patrick, acknowledging he unified LASA and led it through the transition phases of policy reforms and nationalisation.
