The country’s largest village operator purchased the Townsend House and the Townsend Park Lifestyle Estate at Hove from the not for profit Can: Do 4Kids – formerly the South Australian Institution for the Blind, the Deaf and the Dumb founded in 1874 – for an undisclosed price on Monday.

The 3 hectare site is home to 114 independent living units and apartments that Can: Do 4Kids built between 2003 and 2013. These will now join Lendlease's existing three villages in South Australia.

They have also confirmed the staff will have their contracts transferred to them, while the charity will lease an office at Townsend House and will continue to host hearing clinics and events at the property.
