Seasoned travellers Bill and Gitta Malkin traverse Australia extensively in their motor home, all while making the most of their home in the Opal by Living Gems retirement village in Logan, Queensland.
Their decision to settle in the village was largely influenced by the safety and security the village offers them, given that Opal by Living Gems contains 27 allocated spaces for storage in a fenced area that is well watched by management and fellow residents.
“Without doubt, it gives us peace of mind when we go away without the motor home,” says Mr Malkin.
The village occupies 18 landscaped hectares in Logan Village, a former rural hub that is now at the heart of Brisbane’s regional growth corridor. This resort links with almost nine hectares of naturally forested parkland with fishing platforms on the banks of Logan River.
A gated entry, a wide tree-lined boulevard and landscaped streets frame a range of international award-winning two and three bedroom freestanding and duplex homes.
The social centre is the country club, which has a bar and lounge, dining areas, a grand ballroom with a theatre stage and a luxurious cinema.
It also has a barbecue pavilion that overlooks the lake and the magnificent solar-heated, partially covered swimming pool and spa.
Sports and exercise facilities include a bowling green, tennis court, croquet lawn, walking and cycling tracks and games room plus a fully equipped gym.
There are a range of home options to choose from within the village, each starting from $280,000.
