RetireAustralia’s Magill Estate Retirement Village in Adelaide has recently welcomed a new village manager, Marja-Leena Penley.

Ms Penley’s experience in the role is fitting, as she brings knowledge from a nursing career that began at age 18, and more recently as Certificate 3 in Aged Care course instructor at TAFE campuses in South Australia as well as time spent as Workplace Trainer for ACH Group.

In her first days as new village manager, she has had the opportunity to meet residents and staff, getting to know the rhythms of village life.

“I have been very touched that so many people have visited the office to make me feel so welcome,” she said.

Since her start on the 4th of September, she has also been familiarising herself with the Magill village’s standout features which include a library, bar, and multiple recreational community spaces.

“I am very excited about getting to know all the residents and being very interactive with a hands on approach, whilst learning the operational processes of managing the village.”
