The Pacific Golf Club at Carindale in Brisbane have voted to support a deal with village developer Reside Communities for a new village to be located on the golf course’s site.

Pacific Golf Club president Craig Austen said the deal is key to ensuring the club’s future survival while preserving the course.

“We’ve been a part of Carindale for over 50 years and we want to make sure we’re still here in another 50 years,” he told the Courier-Mail.

The next step for the club will be to speak to nearby residents about the development.

“We will shortly be communicating with local residents about how they learn more about the project,” Reside Communities chief executive Glen Brown added.
