The city of Gladstone has joined with three local property developers for a community forum on how to attract retirement villages and other seniors living accommodation to Gladstone.

The council recognises that the city has been focused on building industry with the result that there is a lack of retirement village style options for seniors as well as a number supply of aged care beds stop

The result is older residents having to leave Gladstone for other towns like Bundaberg, Rockhampton and Mackay.
