The ‘health transactions’ sales team of Phil Smith, Shane Nicholson and George Koumoukelis have been tapped on the shoulder to move from market leader Colliers to CBRE to launch their Capital Markets Healthcare & Retirement Living unit.
Smith will take on the National Director role out of Brisbane, with Shane Nicholson a Director in Sydney, supported by George Koumoukelis as Senior Negotiator (pictured left to right).
Healthcare is the largest business unit for CBRE in the US.
"Healthcare specific property is globally recognised as a very attractive investment grade asset class and we are seeing significant interest in this sector from the major Pacific REIT’s and wholesale funds" says Bruce Baker, CBRE Exec. MD, Capital Markets.
Meanwhile back at Colliers, National Director, Head of Healthcare & Retirement Living, Shalain Singh, wishes his departing colleagues well and says he wouldn’t be surprised if they work together on transactions in the future.
Singh reports that Colliers has been building its Strategic Advice services on top of transactions – providing guidance on growth, capitalisation and divestment strategies plus ‘sanity’ checks of balance sheets.
Smith, Nicholson and Koumoukelis will likely be on ‘gardening duty’ for the next few months.
