One of our most progressive care operators, RDNS + RSL Care, has surprised the sector by purchasing the Aged Care Channel. It creates staff training programs and broadcasts them to two in every three care facilities across Australia.

RSL Care + RDNS is well-known for its research Institute and CEO Stephen Muggleton says they now look forward to adding ACC to its educational services.

It’s believed they are already on the hunt for a new CEO for the Channel to replace Russell Bricknell, who is taking up a new role as CEO of BaptistCare WA in April.

Otherwise there will be no changes in the day-to-day running or structure at ACC, which provides educational services to aged care providers across Australia, the UK, Ireland and NZ, and Mr Bricknell says ACC is excited by the opportunity to grow its services.

The Channel was founded by Andrew Ricker and Paul Bennett in 2003 after they launched TV training networks for medical professionals in the 1980s.

In 2009, ACC moved into the UK, before launching on-demand services to deliver content to aged care workers in 2012 and a home care stream in 2013.

RSL Care + RDNS currently has over 100,000 community care clients and more than 5,000 village and aged care residents in Australia.
