The vertical retirement will feature 81 units and will replace the Royal District Nursing Service’s headquarters on Alma Rd in St Kilda.
The local council had opposed the development which resulted in a smaller, five-storey building being approved before RDNS decided to take the case to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) which ruled in their favour in June.
The well-known Not For Profit now has several Melbourne projects on the go, including a co-located village and aged care development at Bundoora and another village at Box Hill.
The group also recently bought the 46-unit Broadwater Gardens village in Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid-North Coast.
They now have over 1,300 retirement village units set to go on sale across QLD, NSW and VIC over the next three years.
