Local property group Halikos led by John Halikos and Shane Dignan have begun on stage 1 of the Northcrest development (originally the Berrimah Farm site), a 168-hectare site located between Darwin, Palmerston and Casuarina.

Northcrest (the name symbolic of its elevated northerly location) is close to the city, water, airport and other transport.

The project is being promoted as a community where Territorians can live, work, play and age in one place and will include 2,000 housing lots; a site for retirement living, 40 sites for medium-density development; two primary schools, 50,000m2 of retail and commercial, and parklands and community spaces such as sports halls, pools and gymnasiums.
