Elements Retirement Living have gained insights into the needs and wants of senior residents prior to the latest stage of construction at their Elements Springwood retirement village, finding that a majority of baby boomers aged between 53 and 71 looking to downsize in retirement want single level homes with specific ‘right-size’ requirements.

A recent survey, comprising of 750 respondents, shows that residents wish to have a modern home with an extra bedroom, private courtyard, and good security. “The survey showed they want to enjoy a beautiful, comfortable home with all the mod cons but also expect to be able to just lock the door and hit the road,” said Elements Retirement Living Managing Director, Chiou
See Anderson.

“The home design has been steered by the very specific needs of our residents,” continued Ms. Anderson, “every consideration has been given to modern retirees’ busy lives, accessibility and comfort.”

The development of 16 new three-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom homes is on schedule to be complete by November.
