The not-for-profit provider has submitted plans for 156 retirement living units at its Tobruk village in Austral. The units will be housed in six three-storey buildings and see the existing village expanded by 200 residents.
RSL Lifecare is already building a 64-bed aged care home at the same site that is due to be finished at the end of this year.
The provider, set up in 1911 to look after war veterans, has consistently been the quiet achiever of the sector building and acquiring villages. It now has 22 aged care homes and 22 retirement villages plus home care services across NSW and the ACT.
