The village operator’s plans to build four five-storey buildings plus a resident clubhouse and health and wellbeing services with 280 apartments next to its Pines Shopping Centre in Doncaster East had been knocked back in May over the carpark design and a lack of building setbacks.
Now the application has been approved after “compulsory mediation”, with Stockland increasing the number of public car parks and agreeing to dedicate 5% of the apartments to affordable housing.
Stockland has 65 retirement villages and more than 12,000 residents across Australia.
