Stockland has today opened a brand new clubhouse for residents at their Lightsview Retirement Village, situated just ten kilometres outside of Adelaide, South Australia. The new 550 square metre clubhouse is part of a $27 million dollar village expansion project, and will offer residents a shared space to meet and socialise.

John Rau, South Australian Deputy Premier, and Mayor Gary Johnson of City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council, joined Stockland residents and members of management to celebrate the grand opening.

Igor Merkin, General Manager for Retirement Living Operations at Stockland, said: “The interest in the Lightsview redevelopment has been very strong, reflecting the attractiveness of the region and the demand for quality and contemporary seniors communities that meet current aspirations and future needs. We are very excited to open this new clubhouse offering more great facilities and lifestyle benefits for residents.”

Stockland broke ground on the Lightsview community 18 months ago, and have completed 33 new two bedroom plus study homes within the village. Another 13 homes are currently under construction, and the final stage will add 30 homes in years to come.

The architecturally-designed clubhouse facility itself includes a large activities room to host events and classes, a resident run café and bar, gym, library area, outdoor terrace and communal kitchen.

The Lightsview Retirement Village also features 15 hectares of public reserves and green spaces all interlinked with walking trails, manicured gardens and recreation areas. The village is well connected with local public transport, and the Northgate shopping centre is only 600 metres away.

“Lightsview Retirement Village really has got everything going for it, offering low maintenance, high lifestyle homes and a fantastic location amongst lots of green spaces, local transport, local shops and a new aged care facility across the road,” Mr. Merkin said.
