Stockland has announced as of last week that the group will soon commence a $4.8million reconstruction and redevelopment project on their Gillin Park retirement village in Warrnambool, Victoria, in response to the modernity and expectations of incoming retirees and their growing demands for premium retirement living options.

This major facelift will see the raising of seven new homes, as well as improved healthcare facilities, and improved entertainment facilities for residents.

The new leisure and health care features are prioritised for construction as the first building stage of the project begins. Their additions will include a modern residents’ clubhouse with a lounge and billiards area, multi-purpose community room, a kitchen and servery, as well as additional rooms for consultation and treatments with external healthcare providers visiting residents.

Stockland Regional Development Manager Daniel Milentijevic said Gillin Park Retirement Village’s improvements were a reflection on the current demands and needs of retirees being received by the village provider.

“We’re expanding and improving Gillin Park Retirement Village to keep pace with demand from a new generation of active retirees who want to live in a friendly village environment,” he said.

“Gillin Park is a thriving community with a warm and welcoming social atmosphere. The village offers a perfectly balanced retirement with options to do as much or as little as you want, while living on the magnificent South Western Victoria coastline.”

The overall development will start late June this year, and is expected to be completed within 12 months.
