Residents of Glengowrie Retirement Village in SA have been presented with carefully crafted biographies by Year 11 students from Brighton Secondary School in Adelaide as part of a class project.

The life stories were based on a series of interviews conducted at the village’s community centre in late March with participating residents receiving a DVD and printed copy of their biography.

English teacher Maj-Lis Borgen-Smith coordinated the project and commented that it had been one of the best teaching experiences she’d had in her 35 years of teaching.

It appears that the residents also enjoyed the intergenerational experience commenting that it was a joy to spend time with the students.
