Plans have been unveiled to turn Torquay’s resort hotel in Victoria into a residential aged-care facility.

The 112-room hotel was opened in September 2007.

St Quentin Consulting has lodged a request on behalf of the Handbury Group, developer / operator of The Sands, to prepare a planning scheme. Aged-care provider OC Health had an option to buy.

Surf Coast councillors agreed to put the proposed planning scheme amendment and planning permit application out for comment.
