The $2.5 million dollar building opened after an 18 month build in Hervey Bay.

Karen Howlett, deputy chief executive officer at Torbay (pictured) said the building would mean the village would run smoother than ever.

"It's made everyone's lives so much better," she said.

"As the administration side expands, which it will because unfortunately new governments keep bringing in new red tape for aged care," she said.

At the opening, Mayor Gerard O'Connell praised the work of Torbay's founding members.

"This village was built with a vision in mind and this is another example of that vision," he said.

The building was named after Clarrie Millar, World War II veteran and Australian politician who supported Torbay during his time as Federal Member for Wide Bay.

Sadly, Mr Millar was unable to attend the opening ceremony due to bad health.
