Joy and Andy McCade, who have three children, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, plan to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a small family gathering on 26th July.

Andy rose through the ranks to become a factory foreman and manager while Joy spent over three decades working in an orthopaedic surgery and GP practice.

The happy couple made the move to Torrens Grove seven years ago with their six-year-old Maltese-Shih Tzu-Cavalier King Charles cross, Kouta and since then have enjoyed many benefits of being part of a close-knit group of residents and staff, with Joy co-founding a resident social club.

Espousing the benefits of living in the Kilkenny village, Joy expressed how supportive the community is especially when Andy went into hospital 18 months ago.

Torrens Grove village manager, Kaye Coats, said everyone at the village is delighted for the couple and their reaching such a milestone.
