villages.com.au has launched the Video Information Centre, the most comprehensive library of educational videos aimed at the retirement village and aged care sector in the country.

The aim is to inform and enlighten residents, operators and prospective buyers about the retirement village sector with a view toward ageing well.

“Over the past six months we have been meeting with the major stakeholders in the sector, discussing everyone’s biggest challenge – sales,” said publisher Chris Baynes.

“The talk and research all comes back to the same things. Potential residents don’t understand what villages and care are - or the core benefits they offer.

“The solution, it was agreed, is educating by video. Consequently we have been filming residents across Australia, as well as village managers, CEOs and resident groups, all telling their stories.”

In addition, the library is stocked with videos that tell the story of villages and residents’ personal experiences from Perth to Sydney, Brisbane to Adelaide.

Produced by an in house team at villages.com.au, it is intended that the Video Information Centre will be the biggest resource of its kind in the country.

“Our objective is simple,” said Mr Baynes. “We want more Australians to understand the significant benefits village and aged care communities offer to age well, and we want villages.com.au to be the best village web site in the world.”
