Italian Aged Care has applied to build a three-storey, 84-bed aged care facility adjacent to its existing village and aged care site in Marangaroo in Perth.

The operator says the original buildings were built back in the 1970s and a new development is now needed to cater for the increasing demand for retirement living services.

The site already includes independent living units, grouped housing, a nursing home, day therapy centre, convent and a chapel.

The new development will add a new mezzanine, lounge and dining areas, landscaping areas including a sensory garden for people with dementia, treatment rooms and four parking bays.
