Boronia Gardens Retirement Village in Albany, Western Australia, has recently launched a range of innovating modular homes, titled ‘Cubed by Schlager’, that have been designed to be affordable, efficient abodes for individuals entering retirement.
Priced upwards of just $249,000, all of the new one, two, and three-bedroom homes are designed and built with an exceedingly high level of energy efficiency in mind; rainwater tanks to catch roof run-off water, and gardens watered with recycled stormwater to minimise waste, and harnessed passive solar energy with double-glazed windows for thermal resistance.
Notably, the homes, constructed by Schlager Homes, bring a distinct new approach to quality in the modular home category as they can be constructed onsite within a compressed time frame of three to four months. This means home buyers can easily track the progress of their home’s construction when visiting the village prior to completion.
“Cubed by Schlager brings a new approach to quality in the modular home industry,” Concept Building Design Building Designer Rob Forgione said.
“Schlager Homes understands the demand for the construction of quality homes in a fast and efficient manner for people wanting to downsize.”
Boronia Gardens Village Proprietor Jim Richards said prospective residents would find the new home designs and the prospect of a flexible, relaxed lifestyle very attractive.
“Boronia Gardens Village is a boutique residential village consisting of just 70 home sites in total,” he said. “Stage one contains 20 home sites, 10 of which have already been leased, with residents relocating to the village from across Western Australia.”
“Albany is a well-established regional centre with a large number of facilities that will appeal to mature property owners,” Mr Richards said.
Schlager Homes, in partnership with Concept Building Design, is commencing construction on an amenities building, due for completion in early 2018.
