Village operator Aveo Group has officially sold out of its $25 million opening release in Newcastle as it now breaks ground on Stage 2 of the $220 million retirement village.
Stage One at Aveo Newcastle, just 11 kilometres from Newcastle’s CBD, delivered 50 homes and a world-class $4.8 million community centre featuring a residents’ bar and lounge, billiards area, cinema, communal kitchen and health and wellness centre including consulting rooms for visiting allied health professionals.
The $23 million second stage will feature 45 two bedroom independent living villas thereby doubling the size of the community. Villas will vary in design with most having expansive north westerly aspects overlooking Shortland Waters golf course and waterways.
Aveo has invested $2.5 million into the recently opened Shortland Waters Golf Clubhouse where residents and the local community can enjoy the restaurant, lounge areas, gaming rooms and pro shop.
The restaurant services will be managed by Select Dining by Aveo – an Australian-first initiative from Aveo Group aimed at implementing nutritional standards nationwide to ensure wholesome and nutritional restaurant quality meals for the residents and the public.
Jason Eldering, Aveo’s Executive General Manager of Integrated Retirement Communities is anticipating that with the increasing demand by retirees looking to downsize without compromising on location or lifestyle, the community’s second phase will mirror the success of the first stage.
Once complete, the six-year $220 million retirement community will feature 300 independent villas and high care aged care.
The second stage of Aveo Newcastle is due to be finalised by mid-2019.
