Stockland’s $69 million retirement village community at Newport has commenced construction.
Built across two six-level buildings within the heart of Stockland’s $590 million Newport project, the development will comprise 125 two- and three-bedroom apartments linked by a central, landscaped podium and more than 3500sq m of outdoor recreation space.
According to Stockland Group executive and Retirement Living chief executive Stephen Bull, the vision for the Newport retirement village was to develop a connected and accessible community that encouraged residents to enjoy a social, active lifestyle by the bay.
Living in a beautiful location with a high level of services shows people they can “upsize their quality of life when they chose to downsize their homes,” he said.
The development will also include a wellness hub with a gym and swimming pool, billiards room, library and an alfresco barbecue area featuring a living community table to grow herbs for residents’ use.
