Leading Australian retirement village provider Stockland have recently reported an ‘over capacity’ crowd at their launch event for the new Birtinya Retirement Village on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, as the total of RSVP’s to the function came in at 130 percent.
The remarkable figure reflects a powerful trend amongst Baby Boomers, who rank proximity to health facilities and quality lifestyle precincts highly when it comes to finding a residence in retirement.
Prospective buyers at the new village are being urged to act quickly, as fifty-seven percent of the $63 million Birtinya Retirement Village development has already been sold, with a further $3 million in off-the-plan sales being settled prior to the official launch. Included in the public sales release were a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments starting from $333,000.
Once completed, Birtinya Retirement Village will consist of 140 apartments, with most units boasting views of the ocean, the canals or the Glasshouse Mountains. Construction has already started on the “vertical village”, with completion expected mid-2018.
Not only is the village located conveniently within the coveted Sunshine Coast Health Precinct, the private retirement community for over 55s will also offer residents access to an integrated two-storey clubhouse, a wellness centre with gym, yoga studio, hair salon and bar lounge, an outdoor pool with covered decks and dining areas and landscaped gardens.
A range of restaurants and cafes, walking paths, retail and business precincts, and the beautiful Bokarina Beach are also within easy walking distance.
Stockland regional development manager Paul Keleher said the operator has received significant interest, locally and from interstate.
